Movie Night

Wild bank vole settling down with a snack and a good horror movie.

The film, Kes, was released 1969/70 and is a masterpiece. The story of a teenage boy with no friends and no hope. Set in the mining heartland of Yorkshire in the sixties it is absolutely authentic. He finds salvation from the grim reality of his existence when he rears and trains a young kestrel (whose favourite food just happens to be …. bank voles).

Even now, it’s well worth a watch although if you are not from the north of England you may have trouble with the dialogue!

It was a real privilege to gain the trust of this bank vole and we had many adventures which I’ll post soon!
